Steel grit

Steel grit is the result of a series of operations which allow to keep its quality unvaried during its lifetime. This allows steel grit to be reused many times during the sandblasting processes.
Steel grit is mainly used during the following processes:

  • Calamine removal on bars after wire drawing process
  • Blasting of object made of Bronze or Aluminum
  • Blasting of forged or molded parts
  • Blasting of tiles and concrete blocks
  • Surface clearing in turbine blasting machine
Steel grit is used in blasting operation where the surface finishing is not the added value element or where there are residues which are particularly resistant to be removed. Steel grit size depends on the thickness and the dimension f the part to be blasted.

Spherical steel shot:

it's the result of a fusion operation, followed by a series of thermal treatments which give it resilience and resistance to stress.

Angular steel grit:

it's the result of a series of operation of crushing of the spherical steel shot. Then it is subject to a series of thermal treatments which give it a structure fit for purpose.

Corundum

Corundum (Aluminum Oxide) is a material that may be of all colors. White or red-brown corundum is used for peeling and, due to its hardness, it's possible to reach good surface finishing. The abrasion level allow to have a high surface removal in short times. The different types and sizes allow to choose the best level of abrasion suited to each needs.
White corundum guarantee a surface finishing better than red-brown corundum.
Note: CORUNDUM ISN’T TOXIC AND IT'S ABSOLUTELY FREE OF SUBSTANCES HARMFUL TO HEALTH.

Glass beads

Glass beads are made of tempered sodic glass and they are a type of abrasive highly resistant to wearing and impacts.
Glass beads are used in peening operations on inox steel or aluminum where the surface finishing is really important for the next treatments.
